Community Service of Newburyport, The Salvation Army, The Newburyport Police Department, and the Newburyport Fire Department came together to help SNAP recipients due to the lapse in SNAP funding.

On Saturday, November 8, we were outside Market Basket collecting non-perishable food items, (rice, pasta, sauce, canned goods etc.)

There are 2600 households in our immediate area who rely on SNAP benefits to put food on the table.

The distribution took place at the Salvation Army in Newburyport from 2 to 5pm on Veterans Day. SNAP recipients from Newbury, Newburyport, West Newbury, and Salisbury were eligible and welcomed.
