In our neighborhoods

Financial instability does not discriminate

Losing a job, facing an unexpected medical bill or inadequate transportation to work can strike any family – just like yours. Our service towns of Newbury, Newburyport and West Newbury include hundreds of children, individuals and families living this reality.

Our Three Pillars Of Action

Preventing homelessness in our communities:

We work to ensure every individual and family has access to safe, affordable housing.

Supporting lifelong economic security:

We offer a financial “bridge” to neighbors to prevent deeper descent into poverty and family instability; and we work to create safe, healthy and meaningful lives for senior citizens.

Promoting youth development:

We help young people thrive by discovering their personal value and learning to contribute to community. We nurture and empower the children of Newbury, Newburyport, and West Newbury by providing the resources and support to develop their potential.

2025 Community Fundraising Breakfast

A Success!

More than 170 community members, supporters, business owners, nonprofit organizations, legislators and local officials attended Community Service of Newburyport’s Annual Fundraising Breakfast at the Newburyport Senior Community Center. We exceeded our fundraising goals and had a wonderful time.

CSN Action

Community Service of Newburyport, Inc, The Salvation Army, and the City of Newburyport respond to the lapse in SNAP funding.

Community Service of Newburyport, The Salvation Army, The Newburyport Police Department, and the Newburyport Fire Department came together to help SNAP recipients due to the lapse in SNAP funding.

Our Clients Speak

The strain to our budget that paper towels, toilet paper, detergent, dish wash, feminine pads, toiletries put on our family is huge, and thanks to Community Service I can buy more meat and dairy when I don’t have to buy those essentials. It really makes a difference in my pocket.
Before we got here I did have a job and provided for my family. A few months after the move, my intellectually disabled daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia, so I’m not able to work.
